His sound has been described as a blend of modern jazz, indie rock and ethnic/folk melodies. Graduating from Berklee College of Music, he moved to Brooklyn in 2017 and has performed frequently at various clubs around the city. With frequent collaborator, pianist/singer Julian Moreen, he has toured several countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany and Switzerland, performing at notable events such as the Taichung Jazz Festival (Taiwan) in 2019, sharing the bill with Grammy nominated saxophonist Antonio Hart, and the Stuttgart Jazz Open (Germany) in 2022, opening for Suzanne Vega, Celeste and Jorja Smith. Andrew is also featured as guitarist on Julian’s upcoming album. Andrew is also a fixture in renowned Carnatic singer/violinist RINI’s band, where he executes virtuosic Indian melodies and complex rhythms fused with electronica. Together they have toured the East Coast, opening for Sunny Jain’s brainchild Red Baraat for their Festival of Colors tour in 2021. They have also toured India, performing in cities such as Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pondicherry and Bengaluru, as well as giving several masterclasses. They have also played distinguished venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. In addition, Andrew also acts as Musical Director for several artists in the Chinese music world when they perform in the US, including TVB singers Fred Cheng, William So, Stephanie Ho, as well as legendary Taiwanese artists such as You Ya and Wan Fang. In 2014, he was accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music on scholarship. At Berklee, he studied with world-renowned professors such as Mick Goodrick and David Tronzo, as well as earning several awards including the Guitar Department Achievement Award. After graduating from school, he moved to New York City and has played tours and concerts in the United States, Europe and Asia, playing different styles of music. He has shared the stage with artists such as Hong Kong pop artists William So, Fred Cheng and German pianist Julian Moreen. Notable performances include the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taiwan, Borneo Jazz Festival in Malaysia, and the Bar Next Door in New York. He is known for his beautiful, singing sound as well as his versatility in different genres. In addition to performing, Andrew has continued to polish his craft by studying with New York jazz giants such as Peter Bernstein and Mike Moreno.
